All About Olaplex
You’ve heard me talk Olaplex for a while now. I’ve been an Olaplex user for years, personally, and i use it in salon every day to help protect and nourish my guests hair. Today i’m here to answer some of my most asked questions about Olaplex and dispell some myths!
What is Olaplex?
Olaplex is an 8 part system designed to noticeably nourish and repair hair. It works by repairing and relinking disulfide bonds. Disulfide bonds give hair its strength, stability and structure. These bonds are broken constantly by mechanical damage, chemical services, environmental stressors, etc. leaving hair damaged and depleated. This often results in a molecular reaction. A single sulfur hydrogen molecule will pair with three oxygen molecules creating what is known as a sulfate group. The protonated sulfate is known as Cysteic Acid. Cysteic acid then EATS THE PROTEIN out of the hair. How crazy is that!?
Simply put, Olaplex repairs hair from the inside out.
Whats the diference between the in salon treatment and the home care items?
The in salon teatment is for use by professionals only. Its the holy grail of hair treatments. This can be used as a standalone treatment or used in color. I personally use Olaplex in all my color services. You will see the biggest impact with this treatment.
Olaplex at home care products are meant to be used for regular maintenence The more steps of the 8 part system you use, the more benefits you will experience.
Can i overuse Olaplex?
No, no, no. You literally cannot overuse it. I often hear people say that Olaplex has protein and therefore you have to use sparingly. This is false. Olaplex isn't a protein treatment. It is however, rich in texture and highly concentrated. Use as often as you can, but start with a small amount.
Who is Olaplex for?
Everyone. Olaplex is perfect for all hair types. Even virgin hair. You still break down bonds every single day whether you color or not.

Designed to be used as a primer for the No. 3 Hair Perfector, this treatment primes strands for maximum nourishment. Apply it to dry hair from roots to ends, leave on for 10 minutes, then follow with No. 3 for at least 10 minutes. When used with No. 3, No. 0 provides 68 percent more repair and three times stronger hair in just one use.
Olaplex #3
This weekly treatment repairs and strengthens hair in just 10 minutes (you can leave on as long as you like, or even sleep in it) This concentrated formula should be applied to damp hair and shampooed out.
Olaplex 4& 5
This shampoo and conditioner combo hydrates and prevents frizz, and it’s sulfate-free and safe for color treated hair.
Olaplex #6
Leave-in styling cream that hydrates, fights frizz and protects hair, smooths, provides heat protection and reduces blow drying time! The true MVP.

Lightweight, oil that tames frizz, smooths flyaways and provides heat protection. Pro tip: I always ad a drop of this into the #6 and it creates the perfect blowout cocktail.
